The intersection of two tolerances, coastal exposure and salt, which is a much shorter list than either on its own. Coccoloba uvifera, Pandanus, Conocarpus erectus, Cordia sebestena, Metrosideros excelsa, Pittosporum tobira, Pinus thunbergii and Sabal palmetto make up most of it.
These species will take spray on the crown, but few of them will take sustained root zone salinity as well, so a beach front planting and a saline irrigated planting are different specifications even on the same site.
