About this collection
Hedging and Screening
Every plant in the range recorded as suitable for hedging or screening, gathered across shrubs, trees and bamboo so a boundary can be specified from one list. Syzygium is the deepest group, with Camellia, Callistemon, Ficus, Elaeocarpus, Podocarpus, Waterhousia, Juniperus, Leptospermum, Gardenia and Bambusa covering every height from knee level to full boundary.
Hedging is bought by linear metre and planting centres rather than by plant count, and the two only reconcile once the mature width is known, so settle the finished height and width before the quantities. For the shrub scale see screening and privacy shrubs, for taller boundaries screening and privacy trees, and lilly pilly and Syzygium for the most specified group. Where the screen has to be tall and fast and the site can manage a clumping habit, bamboo does it faster than anything woody.
