Lilly pilly is the most specified hedging plant in the Australian range and it holds up well in warm humid conditions elsewhere. The selections here are chosen for psyllid resistance and clipping behaviour: 'Resilience', 'Northern Select', 'Winter Lights', 'Plum Magic', Straight and Narrow, Acmena 'Purple Rain', and Syzygium luehmannii where a small tree is wanted.
Named selections matter more here than in almost any other group, because seedling lilly pilly is badly affected by psyllid and the resistant clones are not. Specify the cultivar, not the species.
