Vachellia etbaica (Acacia etbaica)Etbai Acacia

The Vachellia etbaica, commonly known as the Etbai Acacia and named as Acacia etbaica throughout Gulf tender documents, is a small, densely branched thorn tree of the Arabian Peninsula and north east Africa. It carries a low, rounded to flat crown of fine grey green bipinnate foliage, paired straight white spines at each node, and creamy white flowerheads borne in short flushes after rain.

It is one of the toughest woody plants available for shallow, stony ground, holding form on rocky slopes and wadi margins where deeper rooting trees fail. Specifiers use it for native revegetation, wadi and escarpment planting, low windbreaks and thorny boundary work on arid sites.
