Suaeda monoicaShrubby Seablite

The Suaeda monoica, commonly known as the Shrubby Seablite, is a large succulent halophyte shrub of mangrove margins, tidal flats and sabkha across the Red Sea, Arabian Gulf, east Africa and India. It builds a substantial rounded mass of fleshy, cylindrical blue-green leaves on stout woody stems.

It grows in the intertidal transition where salinity is at its highest, and it is one of the few plants that will reliably hold structure on that ground. Specifiers use it for mangrove buffer and sabkha planting, coastal restoration and saline shelter planting.
