The Podocarpus macrophyllus, commonly known as the Buddhist Pine, is a slow-growing, evergreen tree native to southern China and Japan. Valued for its upright, columnar growth habit and narrow, dark green, leathery leaves, it is a popular choice for hedges, screening, and ornamental planting. Growing up to 6–20 meters tall in its natural form, it can also be pruned for use as a small tree or bonsai.
