The sculptural end of the desert palette, where the plant is placed as an object. Dracaena leads it, including Dracaena cinnabari, with Agave in its variegated and fine leaved forms, Yucca elephantipes and Yucca gigantea for height, and Aloidendron dichotomum, the quiver tree, as the most distinctive specimen in the range.
Agave and Yucca carry spines that are genuinely hazardous at path edges and should be set back or specified in the spineless forms where the public can reach them.
