About this collection

Palms

Palms set the character of a resort, a corniche or a hotel forecourt before anything else in the scheme is read. The range here runs from the fan palms that anchor arid schemes, Phoenix dactylifera, Hyphaene thebaica and Livistona chinensis, through to the shade tolerant understorey species such as Rhapis excelsa and Licuala that finish an atrium or a courtyard.

Specify palms by clear trunk height rather than overall height, because that is the dimension a landscape architect sees on site and the one most often disputed on arrival. Our note on clear trunk height explains how to write the line so it survives inspection. For the full palm range including species whose common name does not carry the word palm, see export ready palms, and send your schedule to our enquiry team for sizes and quantities.
