Commercial Development Trees
Commercial planting has to look finished on handover and stay serviceable under a maintenance budget that will be cut. The species here balance those two demands: Tamarix aphylla, Terminalia bentzoe, Searsia pendulina, Populus euphratica, Salix mucronata, Olea and Peltophorum, with Lagerstroemia and Citrus where flower and scent are wanted at entrances.
On commercial sites the binding constraints are usually soil volume and irrigation continuity rather than species tolerance, and both are decided by the civil design long before planting. Raise them early. For larger specimens see large trees for commercial projects, for the street edge urban streetscape trees, and for low upkeep schemes easy to care trees.
