About this collection
Climbing Plants and Vines
Climbers cover vertical surfaces that nothing else will reach and soften structures without taking ground space. Jasminum and Bougainvillea lead the range for hot climates, with Pyrostegia, Trachelospermum, Pandorea, Mandevilla, Dipladenia and Combretum for flower, and Epipremnum, Syngonium and Philodendron for shaded and interior walls.
The support has to be designed before the plant is chosen, because self clinging species will damage render and mortar while twining species need wires they cannot be retrofitted onto. Decide the mechanism first. See ground cover plants for the horizontal equivalent and indoor plants for interior landscaping for the interior climbers.
