About this collection

Aquatic and Marginal Plants

Water feature and constructed wetland planting, split by depth. Nymphaea and Nelumbo are the deep water species, Victoria amazonica the specimen waterlily, and Typha, Cyperus, Thalia dealbata, Pontederia, Phragmites, Alisma and Equisetum the marginals that hold the edge between water and bank.

Aquatic planting is specified by water depth at the crown, and a plant set fifty millimetres too deep or too shallow will not establish however correct the species, so the levels have to be confirmed before delivery. Several species here are also invasive outside cultivation and must be contained. Send water feature schedules with a section drawing to our enquiry team, and see ornamental grasses and strappy plants for the dry bank planting above the waterline.
