Acacia Trees
Acacia is the single most useful genus in arid landscape supply, and this range covers both the Australian and the African and Arabian species. Acacia stenophylla, Acacia salicina, Acacia mangium, Acacia confusa and Acacia auriculiformis sit alongside Acacia tortilis, Acacia ehrenbergiana, Vachellia and Faidherbia albida.
The genus splits sharply in habit: the Australian phyllodinous species make fine textured weeping crowns, while the African thorn acacias make flat layered canopies and carry serious spines.
