Beijing and Shanghai Landmarks: Huadu Centre and Fairlake Villas

Beijing and Shanghai Landmarks: Huadu Centre and Fairlake Villas

Two records from the company's China portfolio, set down together because they demonstrate the same thing from different angles: landscapes delivered to a luxury brand's standard, and then held there.

Huadu Centre, Beijing

A precinct taking in a Bvlgari hotel, a museum, office towers and condominiums. Landscape at this address carries the brand, and the record includes specimen conifers such as Pinus tabuliformis prepared and installed as sculptural features.

Fairlake Luxury Residential Villas, Shanghai

An engagement that ran from 2003 to 2009: six years of establishing and maintaining a premium residential landscape through Shanghai's hot, humid summers and cold winters. Long engagements are where a landscape either matures or falls apart. Keeping one at show standard for six years is its own credential, and a harder one than installing it once.

Why this record matters

Together with Disneyland Shanghai, the Hong Kong roof gardens and the Macau resorts, these projects form the China chapter of the portfolio: brand-standard landscapes, delivered and sustained, in one of the world's most demanding markets. The full list is on our projects page.
