When the programme will not wait, these are the species that put on usable height and cover in the shortest credible time. Ficus and Acacia dominate, with Moringa, Delonix, Albizia lebbeck, Melia azedarach, Cassia, Parkinsonia and Corymbia filling out the range across arid and humid conditions.
Fast growth is bought at a cost that shows up later: weaker wood, higher pruning frequency, more aggressive roots and shorter useful life. It is a good answer for screens and temporary cover and a poor one for an avenue meant to last thirty years. Where the planting is permanent, low maintenance trees and slow growing ornamentals are the better lists, and trees for windbreaks is where fast growth genuinely pays.
