About this collection

Australian Native Trees

Australian natives bring a combination that exotic palettes rarely match: genuine tolerance of poor soil and long dry spells, together with real habitat value. Brachychiton and Acacia lead the range, with Syzygium, Elaeocarpus, Corymbia, Melaleuca and Leptospermum for canopy and screen work and Xanthorrhoea and Livistona for form.

Many of these species are grown at Ornatec's own Queensland farm, which shortens the preparation window compared with sourcing through third party nurseries. See our facilities for where the material is grown, and Australian native shrubs and bird attracting native plants for the understorey that completes the palette. The genus that combines the most drought tolerance with the strongest form is listed separately in Brachychiton.
