It is renowned for its broad, spreading canopy, large, glossy leaves that turn vibrant shades of red, yellow, and orange before falling, and its ability to thrive in coastal and tropical regions. Growing up to 15–25 meters, it produces small, inconspicuous flowers and edible, almond-like seeds.
