About this collection
Cordyline
Cordyline supplies vertical foliage colour in positions where flower will not last, which makes it a mainstay of interior planting, shaded courtyards and podium beds. Cordyline fruticosa and its coloured selections 'Tangelo' and 'Red Edge' hold the tropical end, while Cordyline australis 'Red Star' and 'Red Sensation' and Cordyline stricta take more sun and cooler conditions.
The fruticosa types are genuinely tropical and will mark in cold or dry wind; the australis types are far tougher but read as a different plant entirely. They are not substitutes for one another. See indoor plants for interior landscaping for the interior range and ground cover plants for the layer beneath them.
