A small, deliberate selection of plants that carry a scheme through the months when nothing else is in flower. Camellia sasanqua supplies almost all of it, in named forms including 'Weroona', 'Something Special', 'Showa No Sakae' and 'Shell Pink', with Banksia robur and Acacia aneura adding contrasting form and habitat value.
Winter flowering is only useful where the space is actually used in winter, which in the Gulf is most of the year and in cooler climates is a much narrower argument. Place it where people will be.
