When a city plants trees by the million, someone has to know where every one of them is, how it is doing, and who is responsible for it. That is the job of a Tree Management Office, the governance model at the heart of Riyadh's giga-scale greening program. This record sets down the model, and Ornatec's place in the contest to run it.

The contest
Thirteen firms were invited to bid for the role. Ornatec was shortlisted in the final three: recognition, at the sharpest end of the world's biggest greening market, of a capability built over forty years across nursery production, urban forestry, standards and audit.
