Teucrium oliverianum

Desert Germander

Teucrium oliverianum - Desert Germander

The Teucrium oliverianum, or Desert Germander, is a hardy, drought-tolerant perennial herb or small shrub native to arid and semi-arid regions of the Middle East, North Africa, and parts of Central Asia. It is prized for its silvery-grey, aromatic foliage and clusters of small, tubular lavender to pale purple flowers, which bloom in spring and early summer. Growing up to 0.5 to 1 metre tall, this resilient plant thrives in dry, rocky soils and full sun, making it a valuable addition to xeriscapes and desert gardens.

This low-maintenance shrub is ideal for ornamental borders, erosion control, and supporting pollinators in challenging environments.
