Syzygium grijsii

Small Leaf Syzygium

Syzygium grijsii - Small Leaf Syzygium

Syzygium grijsii carries the smallest leaves in a genus better known for its large glossy ones: fine, narrow, dark green foliage that flushes coppery on new growth and takes clipping down to a very tight face. Small white fluffy flowers with prominent stamens appear through spring and summer.

It is used where a hedge has to be genuinely low and genuinely crisp: parterres, edging to a formal bed, clipped balls in planters and a defined line along a path.

Small Leaf Syzygium is the plant for the low formal line that a large-leaved hedge can never hold cleanly.
