Pilosocereus pachycladus
Blue Torch Cactus
Pilosocereus pachycladus is the bluest of the columnar cacti in cultivation, a Brazilian caatinga species whose ribbed stems carry a powder-blue waxy coating set off by golden spines. Mature plants branch into a candelabra at 4 to 10 metres.
It is specified where an arid scheme needs a genuine vertical statement, at entrances, in courtyards and as the anchor of a gravel bed.
