Helichrysum italicum

Curry Plant

Helichrysum italicum - Curry Plant

The Helichrysum italicum, commonly known as the Curry Plant, is a small evergreen shrub admired for its silver-grey, needle-like foliage and its warm, curry-like fragrance. While not used in culinary curry dishes, its aromatic leaves are often incorporated into potpourris or as a garnish. In summer, it produces clusters of small, bright yellow, daisy-like flowers that add a cheerful accent to its compact, mounded form. Growing up to 0.3 to 0.6 metres tall and wide, it is perfect for borders, rock gardens, or container planting.

Drought-tolerant and low-maintenance, the Curry Plant thrives in dry, sunny conditions, making it an excellent choice for Mediterranean-style gardens.
