Asphodelus fistulosus - Onionweed

The Asphodelus fistulosus, commonly known as Onionweed, is a hardy, drought-tolerant herbaceous perennial plant native to the Mediterranean region and North Africa. It is characterised by its slender, hollow, onion-like leaves and tall stems bearing small, star-shaped, pale pink to white flowers with dark veins. Growing up to 30 to 60 cm tall, it thrives in sandy and rocky soils, often colonizing disturbed areas and roadsides.

While considered invasive in some regions, Onionweed is valued for its ability to withstand harsh conditions and its ornamental flowers.
