Agave filifera

Thread Leaf Agave

Agave filifera - Thread Leaf Agave

The Agave filifera, commonly known as the Thread Leaf Agave, is a small, dense rosette succulent from central Mexico. Narrow dark green leaves are marked with pale bud imprints and shed fine white threads along their margins, giving the whole rosette a soft, filamented outline that is unusual among agaves.

At well under a metre across it works as a detail plant rather than a landscape mass, and it holds interest at close viewing distance. It is used in courtyards, planters, raised beds and gravel detail planting.
