Schinus molle

Peruvian Pepper Tree

Schinus molle - Peruvian Pepper Tree

The Schinus molle, or Peruvian Pepper Tree, is a fast-growing evergreen tree native to South America. Known for its graceful, weeping habit, feathery, aromatic foliage, and clusters of pinkish-red, pepper-like berries, it is widely planted as an ornamental tree in warm climates. Reaching up to 10 to 15 metres, it provides excellent shade and is often used in parks, large gardens, and along streets.

This drought-tolerant tree thrives in arid and semi-arid conditions, making it an ideal choice for water-wise landscapes, though it can be invasive in some regions.
