The Podocarpus macrophyllus, commonly known as the Buddhist Pine, is a slow-growing, evergreen tree native to southern China and Japan. Valued for its upright, columnar growth habit and narrow, dark green, leathery leaves, it is a popular choice for hedges, screening, and ornamental planting. Growing up to 6 to 20 metres tall in its natural form, it can also be pruned for use as a small tree or bonsai.

This hardy and versatile plant thrives in a variety of climates and is widely used in both formal and naturalistic landscapes.
