Black Walnut

Juglans nigra - Black Walnut

The Juglans nigra, or Black Walnut, is a majestic deciduous tree renowned for its valuable timber, edible nuts, and striking presence in large landscapes. Growing up to 30 meters, it features a straight trunk, a broad, rounded crown, and pinnate, dark green leaves that turn yellow in autumn. Its round, green husks encase rich, flavorful nuts that ripen in late summer to early autumn.

Native to North America, the Black Walnut thrives in fertile soils and open spaces, making it an excellent choice for shade, timber production, or as a legacy tree.
