Jasminum glaucum

Wild Jasmine

Jasminum glaucum - Wild Jasmine

Jasminum glaucum is a scrambling evergreen jasmine of southern Africa and the mountains of the Arabian Peninsula, more wiry and more drought-hardy than the garden jasmines most people know. Small trifoliate leaves carry a distinct blue-grey bloom, and clusters of white star-shaped flowers open with the characteristic evening scent.

It is grown on walls, fences and low structures in dry climates, where its tolerance of heat and poor soil matters more than the size of the flower.
