The Calotropis procera, commonly known as the Apple of Sodom or Sodom Apple, is a hardy, fast-growing shrub or small tree known for its silvery-green, velvety leaves and striking clusters of star-shaped, pale purple to lavender flowers. It thrives in arid and semi-arid environments, often found in sandy or rocky soils, making it an excellent choice for xeriscaping and erosion control in challenging conditions.

This drought-tolerant species has traditional uses in medicine and fibre production, adding functional value to its ornamental appeal.
