Brachychiton rupestris

Queensland Bottle Tree

Brachychiton rupestris - Queensland Bottle Tree

The Brachychiton rupestris, or Queensland Bottle Tree, is a unique and iconic deciduous tree native to Australia, renowned for its swollen, bottle-shaped trunk that serves as a water storage reservoir. Growing up to 10 to 20 metres tall, it features lobed, dark green leaves and produces clusters of bell-shaped, creamy-yellow flowers in spring and summer. Its drought tolerance and striking form make it a standout feature in arid and subtropical landscapes.

This low-maintenance tree is ideal for ornamental planting, erosion control, or as a shade tree in parks and gardens.
