Beccariophoenix madagascariensis

Beccariophoenix madagascariensis (the Windowpane Palm, or Manarano) is supplied by Ornatec as advanced, project-grade stock. A stately solitary feather palm from Madagascar, it closely resembles the coconut in form and is widely used as a hardy, self-cleaning alternative where a coconut look is wanted with greater cold and wind tolerance. Juvenile fronds show the translucent "windows" that give the palm its name. Full sun, well-drained soils, moderate water.
