Bladder Senna

The Colutea istria, or Bladder Senna, is a hardy deciduous shrub native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean region. It is prized for its ornamental, inflated seed pods that resemble small bladders and its bright yellow, pea-shaped flowers, which bloom in summer. Growing up to 2–4 meters tall, it is an attractive and adaptable plant for dry, well-drained soils and sunny locations.
This low-maintenance shrub is an excellent choice for erosion control, hedges, and naturalized plantings in drought-prone areas.
